Modern-day Apprentice signed up by Scottish law firm

1st December 2015

A Scottish law firm has become the first north of the border to sign up for an app created by a solicitor who featured on the TV show The Apprentice.

Watermans Accident Claims and Care is to offer clients The Link App, a business venture of Lauren Riley, who appeared on the programme in 2014. A qualified solicitor who specialised in family law, Ms Riley then went on to create her own app for law firms, which is offered as a free download on the Apple App Store.

The Link App offers an innovative way for clients to interact with the firm, giving users live updates of how their claim is being handled as well as offering a direct line of communication to their solicitor and/or claim handler.

Watermans managing director Scott Whyte said the app "will allow our clients to communicate with Watermans like never before, giving them the opportunity to check in with the company to see how their case is progressing, no matter the time or day", and allowing their team to handle cases more efficiently.

Ms Riley commented: "As a qualified lawyer I am particularly passionate about helping law firms and their clients use new technology to improve the way they interact."

She added that 80 small and medium-sized firms had registered an interest in her app over the summer.
