Morisons appoints restructuring and insolvency head

23rd September 2015 | careers

Glasgow and Edinburgh legal firm Morisons has appointed Pamela Muir as a partner heading its restructuring and insolvency team.

Ms Muir, who joins from Pinsent Masons, will be based in the Glasgow office. She has particular experience of the retail, manufacturing, hotel & leisure and commercial property sectors, representing creditors, investors and company directors.

Earlier this month Morisons lost its commercial dispute resolution team, including insolvency lawyer Keith Anderson, to Gilson Gray, but picked up a five strong team from the collapsed firm of McClure Naismith.

Today the firm also announced that it has promoted Jan MacKay from associate to partner, based in Edinburgh. She has niche experience of the telecommunications and renewable energy sectors and has been with Morisons for 13 Years.

Steven Harte, previously with DWF, joins the employment team as a solicitor.

Peter Duff, managing partner at Morisons, commented: “There’s greater awareness now amongst businesses of early intervention services available to help distressed companies and Pamela’s particular expertise strengthens the depth of our business team, further ensuring we provide real value supportive services to businesses at all stages of growth. Similarly, renewable energy continues to be a growth sector and Jan’s specialist knowledge will enhance our presence in this field.”
