Partner promotion as Burness Paull forms specialist disputes team

1st February 2018 | careers

Law firm Burness Paull has announced a partner promotion as it unveils a newly combined practice area.

Stuart Murdoch, who joined Burness Paull four years ago from RBS where he was legal counsel, litigation, becomes a partner and will lead a team dealing with banking and financial services disputes, as well as regulatory advice. He is also a solicitor advocate and qualified mediator.

Firm chairman Philip Rodney commented: "This is an area where increasingly our clients in Scotland, across the UK and internationally require advice. It is an essential component of deals in the financial sector. In addition, Stuart has a depth of experience acting in multi-million pound complex banking and financial disputes.

"With his in-house experience, Stuart brings a unique approach that allows him to provide practical advice and understand the client’s perspective. Throughout his career, he has shown leadership qualities that make him an ideal choice to lead this new practice area, which will be part of the firm’s Dispute Resolution division."
