Promotions announced at Balfour+Manson

10th March 2017 | careers

Legal firm Balfour+Manson has announced a number of promotions with effect from 1 April 2017.

Three new partners will be assumed: Alan Gilfillan, who specialises in corporate and charity law; Kirsten Knight, who heads the family team in the Aberdeen office; and Sindi Mules, who specialises in public law including judicial review and human rights, and appeals to superior courts including the UK Supreme Court.

Four associates have been promoted to senior associate: Karen Gibbons (family law, Edinburgh), Margaret Ross (a chartered tax adviser in private client), Sarah Shiels (employment and discrimination litigation), and Irene Turner (residential conveyancing and property law).

There are also two solicitors who have been promoted to associate: Julia Cryan (residential property) and Stephanie McLaren (commercial property).

Chairman Elaine Motion commented: “These promotions demonstrate B+M’s commitment to both developing our people and strengthening our business for the future.

"This is a very exciting time for B+M and I am personally delighted that yet again we are able to promote such talented people. They are a key part of the firm’s success going forward.

"Our focus is and will continue to be to grow the business in strength, depth and quality, to continue to offer the personal service we are known for across all areas."
