QC takes over as Law Reporting chair

12th June 2017 | careers

The Scottish Council of Law Reporting (SCLR) has appointed Kenneth Campbell QC as its new chairman.

Mr Campbell, who has served three years as vice chairman, takes over from solicitor Jamie Millar. He commented: "It is an honour and a responsibility to follow Jamie Millar, and other distinguished past leaders of the Council. I have been closely involved in extending the range of older 'hard to find' material which the Council has made available via BAIILI and other databases, and I look forward to continuing the Council's work in making legal information as widely available as possible."

Jackie McRae of McKinnon Forbes Solicitors, Tranent and a trustee/director of the Council for the past four years, becomes vice chair; while Christine McLintock, a nominee of the Council of the Law Society of Scotland, has been elected a trustee/director in succession to Jamie Millar.

SCLR publishes Session Cases, the most authoritative Scottish law reports. It also hosts the annual Macfadyen Lecture, given by a senior judge, and supports work to make Scottish legal sources more widely available.
