SCTS seeks co-operation for court user survey

24th May 2019 | civil litigation , criminal law

Solicitors and other court users are being invited to co-operate in the 2019 survey now underway on behalf of Scottish Courts & Tribunals Service.

The biennial survey, covering the High Court, Court of Session, all sheriff courts and most JP courts, runs from now until mid-July, following a pilot in Glasgow Sheriff Court earlier this month. Carried out by Systra Ltd, it will collect feedback on treatment by SCTS staff in terms of politeness and helpfulness; information supplied prior to and while at court; distance travelled and time taken to attend court; time spent waiting, including at service counters; cleanliness and comfort; and adequacy of facilities for people with special needs.

Interviewers (carrying identity cards) will approach people as they leave the court building. Interviews will take not more than 12 minutes,  but professional court users who do not have time at that point will have the option of taking a questionnaire with them for completion and return.

SCTS uses the surveys to improve the quality and effectiveness of its services and hopes that solicitors will take part in the survey if requested.
