Six in Scotland among CMS partner promotions

27th April 2015 | careers

Six Scottish solicitors are among 39 new partner promotions across Europe and the Middle East at international law firm CMS.

The six are Angus MacRae (real estate, Edinburgh), Chris Rae (real estate, Glasgow), Alison Gow (dispute resolution, Edinburgh), Gillian MacLellan (employment, Glasgow), and Christine Worthington (Glasgow) and Valerie Allan (Aberdeen) in the energy, projects and construction practice. All but Valerie Allan joined CMS as part of the merger with Dundas & Wilson on 1 May last year.

Caryn Penley, executive partner for Scotland, said the promotions "reflect the significant growth and development across the firm in Scotland one year on from the successful combination with Dundas & Wilson".

Highlighting the fact that 18 of the 39 promotions are women, senior partner Penelope Warne commented: "We are delighted to welcome these talented individuals to the partnership. These promotions were made across a number of areas, and reflect the talent and commitment of our lawyers as we grow the firm internationally. We are proud that seven of the 10 partners in the UK are women, reinforcing our strong commitment to diversity.”

CMS currently has over 800 partners in 59 locations globally.
