Stephen Millar to be CMS's UK managing partner

1st February 2016 | careers

International law firm CMS has announced the appointment of Stephen Millar as its next UK based managing partner.

Mr Miller, an oil & gas corporate partner led for CMS on the negotiations that led to the merger with Dundas & Wilson in 2014, since when he has been co-executive partner for Scotland. He has acted on a wide variety of transactions in the North Sea and globally, often leading combined teams from London, Aberdeen and other CMS offices.

In his role as executive partner, he has also had responsibility for teams in a wide range of practice areas.

He will serve a four year term from the beginning of May 2016. Until then, Duncan Weston continues as managing partner.

Penelope Warne, CMS's senior partner, chair of the board and head of energy, commented: “Stephen’s global experience as an oil & gas lawyer and from establishing a number of our international offices, together with his background both in London and Scotland, means he will bring a great deal of valuable insights, knowledge and energy to the role. I am looking forward to working with him as our new managing partner.”
