SYLA sets 1 June AGM date

4th May 2017

The Scottish Young Lawyers' Association will host its annual general meeting on Thursday 1 June 2017 at 29 Royal Exchange Square, Glasgow, from 6pm.

At the AGM the President will report on the year's activities and the treasurer will present accounts. Any amendments to the constitution will also be moved and voted on.

Committee members for 2017-18 will then be elected. The committee has always been lucky to attract hardworking, innovative and dedicated young lawyers who volunteer to give something back to the profession. The work of the SYLA is varied. It needs people who are good at organising events, PR and media, design, advertising and IT and communications, as it addresses representation issues and politics surrounding the law.

Anyone interested is very welcome to put themselves forward for one of the following positions: President, Vice President, treasurer and secretary as well as seven non-executive committee positions. In line with the constitution of the SYLA, only current committee members who have served on the committee for at least 12 months may stand for President. All other positions are open to the membership.

Please email mail@syla.co.uk to request a copy of the nomination form, which can submitted prior to the AGM or brought on the night. In the event you are not able to obtain your nomination in advance, please come along on the evening and other members will be happy to nominate on the night.
