Thompsons appoints Glasgow partner

24th January 2018 | careers

Thompsons solicitors has appointed Alan Rodgers as a partner in its Glasgow office.

Mr Rodgers, who joins from Drummond Miller, has for the past 10 years provided advice to and represented trade unions and their members in trade disputes and industrial action, reparation actions, criminal injuries compensation claims and fatal accident inquiries. He has appeared in many courts and tribunals.

Away from his trade union practice, he has considerable experience pursuing cases relating to medical negligence, including those involving fatalities or damage sustained during birth. He is also dealing with many individuals who have suffered abuse during childhood and has worked with charity groups to provide support to those who seek justice in this regard.

Partner Wendy Durie commented: “We are delighted to welcome Alan to the partnership. He brings with him many years' experience of acting for injured union members and as such, he is a great fit with the work we do at Thompsons. His skills and experience will enhance the work of the firm’s Union Accident team.”
