Thorntons promotes four to partner

17th March 2016 | careers

Legal firm Thorntons has announced the promotion of four female associates to partner, a move that means women now make up 40% of the partners at the practice.

Debbie Fellows, who works between the firm’s Dundee and Perth offices, specialises in employment law and is accredited as an employment law specialist by the Law Society of Scotland.

Amanda Wilson, who is based in Dundee, has been with Thorntons since joining as a trainee in 2005, and is now an accredited specialist in family law.

Susan Duff, in Thorntons’ Cupar office, works in private client including wills, powers of attorney and inheritance tax planning. She is also part of the firm’s land and rural business team.

Michelle Adam, a solicitor advocate with civil rights of audience based in the Edinburgh office, specialises in personal injury claims and has a particular interest in employers’ liability and clinical negligence cases.

Joint managing partner Scott Milne commented: “All four new partners are highly experienced and respected figures and their promotions are well deserved.

“This role will allow such experienced and highly capable people to collaborate with the partnership to drive the business forward and further enhance our service for clients.”
