Three associate promotions at Austin Lafferty Solicitors

24th April 2019 | careers

Austin Lafferty Solicitors & Estate Agents has announced the promotion of three solicitors to associate.

Michelle Orchard in the Giffnock office, Omair Ahmed in the East Kilbride office and Elaine MacDonald in the Newton Mearns office all began with the firm as trainees and have been qualified assistants for a number of years.

Partner Austin Lafferty commented: "Over the years John Roberts and I have grown our own talent, and continuously had trainees – indeed for a couple of years we had to get special dispensation from the Law Society of Scotland as our ratio of trainees to partners was technically excessive. Michelle, Elaine and Omair have all built practices in residential and commercial conveyancing, executries plus various other aspects of private client work within our branches. They also feed in to help develop our risk and case management processes. All bring their personalities to the firm and are a joy to work with."

He added: "The high street is an excellent place for solicitors to do business and these internal promotions reflect John’s and my confidence in the future."
