Three in Scotland among 25 Dentons partner promotions

4th April 2019 | careers

Three solicitors in its Scottish offices are among 25 promoted to partner in the latest round announced by global legal firm Dentons.

Corporate lawyer Donald Smith in the Edinburgh office, and Craig Kennedy (financial markets commercial disputes) and Alison Weatherhead (people, reward and mobility) in Glasgow have all been recognised, along with 22 others across Dentons' European offices.

Jeremy Cohen, CEO for the UK & Middle East region, commented: "Our ambition is to become the leading global law firm across the European continent. This means delivering what our clients want today, helping them to work out what they are likely to need tomorrow, and responding to both by supporting our people, and particularly the next generation, to achieve their full potential. I am therefore delighted to congratulate this exceptionally talented group of lawyers on their well-deserved promotions."

"Dentons is in the talent business, so the development of this highly capable group of lawyers into our next generation of leaders is something we are extremely proud of," added Tomasz Dabrowski, CEO of the Europe region. "These promotions reflect not only the legal knowledge, leadership skills and business acumen of these lawyers, but also the organic growth of our firm across the continent."

Dentons has also annopunced that it is to combine with existing associate firm, Fisher Jeffries in Adelaide. The combination will extend Dentons’ national footprint in Australia and add 13 new partners with expertise across financial services, corporate, dispute resolution, construction and engineering, employment, manufacturing and real estate.
