Three partner hires to join Brodies

Brodies LLP has announced three partner lateral hires who will join the firm later this year, adding to its expertise in infrastructure projects, real estate finance and corporate and personal tax.

Joining the firm on 3 April is Heather Thompson, a trust and tax specialist, whose experience spans a wide range of taxation matters across the corporate, private client and real estate areas. A member of the Law Society of Scotland’s Trust & Succession Law Reform Subcommittee and the professional association STEP, she moves from Turcan Connell and will be based in Brodies' Edinburgh office.

On 1 May the firm will welcome Drysdale Graham, a solicitor with more than 30 years' experience who specialises in social and economic infrastructure projects. Currently with Pinsent Masons, During his career spanning more than 30 years, he has worked on projects including the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route and Aberdeen Harbour Expansion projects. He joins Brodies’ energy & infrastructure team and will be based primarily in its Edinburgh office.

Chris Dun, the third new hire, joins from Maclay Murray & Spens in the summer. A specialist in investment and development property finance, property investment trusts, social housing finance, education finance and securitisation and bond issues, he will be based in Brodies’ Glasgow office.

Managing partner Bill Drummond commented: “We are pleased that lawyers of the calibre of Heather, Drysdale and Chris, each of whom is qualified in both Scotland and England & Wales, will be sharing their considerable expertise with our clients and further enhancing the service provided by our banking and finance, corporate, projects, infrastructure and real estate teams."
