Two partner appointments at DWF

20th November 2014 | careers

Two partner hires have been announced by national law firm DWF for its offices in Scotland.

Chris McLauchlan joins the banking team as an associate partner, based in Glasgow, from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London, where he was a senior associate. Gary MacDonald joins the corporate team as an associate partner, based in Edinburgh, from Pinsent Masons where he was a legal director.

Mr McLauchlan has advised sponsors, corporate borrowers, retail and investment banks and alternative capital providers across multiple jurisdictions for over 10 years, and is experienced in corporate lending, leveraged finance, real estate finance and restructuring transactions.

Mr MacDonald will strengthen the firm’s 70-strong national corporate team with his experience in mergers and acquisitions, investments, joint ventures and restructuring, helping to build the firm’s energy, financial services, technology and life sciences sectors. Prior to his role at Pinsent Masons he worked in-house at The Royal Bank of Scotland.

Alasdair Peacock, national head of corporate and banking at DWF, commented: “Chris and Gary’s appointments strategically bolster our corporate and banking teams in Scotland. Together they offer specialist knowledge and sector expertise that will enhance the teams’ capabilities, ensuring they will play a key role in the future development of our Scottish and national practice, helping us to support and deliver positive results for our national client base.”
