Two Scots among 16 Clyde & Co partner promotions

19th April 2016 | careers

Two solicitors in its Edinburgh insurance team are among 16 partner promotions announced today by international law firm Clyde & Co.

Toni Ashby and Bruce Goodbrand will join the ranks of more than 375 partners in 45 offices around the world from 1 May. Clyde & Co moved into Scotland last year with the acquisition of Simpson & Marwick.

Half of the new promotions are women, and the insurance practice sector saw the largest intake of new partners, with others being advanced in dispute resolution, corporate, infrastructure and energy. During the past 12 months the practice has also added 34 lateral hires, and in total including mergers its partner strength has grown by 95.

Senior partner James Burns commented: "I'm delighted to announce a record number of partner promotions. The size of the group demonstrates the top quality calibre of the candidates coming through, the opportunities available to talented individuals at this firm and the importance we place on developing and investing in our people.

"I'm especially pleased with the diversity of gender, geography and sectors in this year's new partner group, which reflects the diverse nature of our business."
