Two upcoming career events for SYLA

10th March 2016

The Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association is holding two events next week, one in Edinburgh and one in Aberdeen, in its series considering possible careers for young lawyers.

Both take place on Thursday 17 March at 6pm. At the Edinburgh event, "So you want to be a judicial assistant at the UK Supreme Court?", a team from the UK Supreme Court will speak on what life is like working as a judicial assistant to the justices of the court. The court is currently recruiting for up to seven temporary posts, assisting the justices by carrying out research in connection with appeals and summarising applications for permission to appeal. This takes place in the SSC Library, Parliament House. Click here to reserve a place.

Meanwhile in Aberdeen, "So you want to be a corporate lawyer?" will be hosted by Stronachs LLP at 34 Albyn Place, AB10 1FW, featuring David Rennie, managing partner of Stronachs, Rachel Tate, lawyer at CMS, and Callum Armstrong, newly qualified solicitor, who will share their perspectives on life in corporate law at all stages of a career. Click here to reserve a place.
