Wright Johnston & Mackenzie to merge with BMK Wilson

13th March 2017 | practice management

Wright Johnston & Mackenzie is to merge with Glasgow and Dunblane practice BMK Wilson with effect from 29 May 2017, the firm announced today.

The merged practice will be known as Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP in Glasgow, and Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP incorporating Barty’s in Dunblane. All five partners and 16 employees from BMK Wilson’s Glasgow and Dunblane offices will be joining WJM, representing an 18% increase in headcount.

WJM said the deal was part of ongoing implementation of its plan to strengthen and grow the key areas of private client, commercial property, corporate and dispute resolution.

Last year it merged with McArthur & Co in Inverness.

Chief Executive Liam Entwistle commented: . “WJM and BMK Wilson are both firms with an excellent heritage and pedigree. The merged firm will build on that for the benefit of all of its clients, strengthening its position in the marketplace in key strategic areas. Together we will continue to provide high quality legal services, combining high levels of technical and sector specific expertise with local knowledge and networks. We are jointly committed to helping our clients achieve what they need for themselves, their families and their businesses.”

The merged firm will have 28 partners, 56 fee earners and 52 employees across four offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Dunblane.
