Amna Ashraf

Director
Burness Paull

Amna joined the Law Society of Scotland’s Council in June 2022 for Glasgow and Strathkelvin.

Amna is a Director in the firm’s busy family migration department.

Having specialised in this area of immigration law for over 8 years, Amna has developed excellent working practices in ensuring a smooth application process for clients applying for family visas from both inside and outside the UK. She holds a high success rate of over 95%, owing to her meticulous attention to detail and tenacious approach at presenting complex evidence in an attractive and compelling frame. Clients find her friendly, well informed and professional and left numerous commendations on our Facebook and Google review pages.

Amna also has a keen interest in gender equality issues, best interests of children and domestic violence applications. She represents appeals at the First-tier Tribunal and acts as instructing solicitor at the Court of Session. She speaks fluent Urdu and Punjabi.

In December 2015, she won the ‘Young Achiever of the Year’ award at the Scottish Asian and Business Awards. In 2017, the same body recognised her as a finalist under the ‘Rising Star in Law’ category.

Amna is a graduate from the University of Aberdeen with a business background and over 5-year service as a former Children's Panel Member in Glasgow. She is a member of the Scottish Young Lawyers Association and Immigration Law Practitioners Association.
