Chief Executive | Ben Kemp
Prior to this, Ben was the General Counsel and Executive Director for the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries from 2012 and in 2023 undertook the interim role of Chief Executive Officer for the organisation until early 2025.
Ben was formerly a partner in the Regulatory and Professional Discipline department of London law firm, Kingsley Napley LLP. Prior to that he trained and worked for ten years as a solicitor with Shepherd+ Wedderburn LLP. He is dual qualified as a solicitor in Scotland and in England and Wales.
Ben serves as a non-executive Director for the Royal Yachting Association of Scotland. He has tutored public law at the University of Edinburgh for more than twenty years.
Ben has previously been Vice Chair and solicitor member of the Scottish Solicitors Discipline Tribunal and a member of the Professional Standards and Ethics Committee of the Law Society of England and Wales.
Outside of work, Ben enjoys an active family life with his wife and two sons. He enjoys the outdoors, including sailing and cycling.
