Brianella Scott
Brianella Scott is a Solicitor with the Scottish Government, currently working in the Employment and COVID Inquiries Division on matters relating to the Scottish COVID-19 Inquiry. She previously worked in the Litigation Division of the Scottish Government, advising on matters relating to the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry and served as an Assistant Solicitor to the Sheku Bayoh Public Inquiry.
She is a former Secretary of the Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association and currently sits on the Law Society of Scotland’s Racial Inclusion Group Committee. In addition, she serves as a mentor through the Law Society of Scotland Mentoring Scheme and Diversity+ Academy Programme.
Brianella is passionate about equity, diversity, inclusion, and reverse mentoring within the profession. She emphasises the importance of allyship and visible ethnic minority role models and mentors in improving access and progression.
