Douglas Jefferies
Douglas is a commercial lawyer with over 20 years post-qualification experience of advising clients on a range of commercial and contractual matters. Douglas has significant expertise in strategic procurement projects across a range of sectors, including ICT, telecoms and utilities.
Douglas regularly acts for clients in both the public and private sectors on strategic projects, and so is able to consider, propose and deliver examples of best practice experience from both the public and private sector when providing support to clients.
Douglas has been praised by clients for providing "invaluable support, covering a wide range of issues, always with calm, considered and very commercial advice and guidance."
Douglas is a member of DWF's Procurement Centre of Excellence, which has been set up to add value for and service the requirements of our public sector clients. Douglas is a member of the Procurement Lawyers Association. Douglas is dual-qualified in Scottish and English law.
Douglas' recent experience includes:-
- Advising the Scottish Government on its £600m R100 procurement project
- Advising the Cabinet Office on the update of the public sector Model Contracts to reflect the implementation of the Procurement Act 2023
- Advising the Department for Work and Pensions on a major ICT procurement
