Gavin Grant

Gavin Grant began his legal career in private practice in 2005 before moving into a series of in-house roles from 2011, spanning the public sector, broadcast media, and higher education. Since joining the University of Strathclyde in 2018 and being appointed Head of Legal Services in 2022, Gavin has played a central role in shaping its new in-house legal function. In this role, he leads on legal strategy, with expertise in regulatory compliance, governance, intellectual property, and complex commercial contracts. Gavin is keen for in-house lawyers to be seen as enablers – helping the business to navigate legal challenges while supporting innovation and strategic growth.
