Jamie Foulis

Partner
Balfour+Manson

Jamie joined Balfour+Manson as a trainee solicitor in August 2011. Upon completing his traineeship in August 2013, he returned to the firm’s Family Team where he has remained ever since, acting in a range of matters concerning financial provision on the breakdown of personal relationships and the arrangements which are to be made for children in those circumstances, as well as issues concerning Adults with Incapacity and Professional Regulation. These are areas which he finds to be extremely rewarding and interesting to assist clients in and is delighted to have the opportunity to do so. He was assumed as a partner in 2017.

Jamie is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in the fields of Family Law and Regulation of Professional Conduct Law, and is a member and committee member of the Family Law Association and a member of the Association of Regulatory and Disciplinary Lawyers. He currently sits on the Scottish Law Commission’s Advisory Group concerning the reform of the law on cohabitation. Jamie is also a Mentor as part of ARDL’s mentorship scheme, offering support and advice to a younger solicitor or trainee working in the field of regulatory law.

Jamie also currently provides advice and assistance on a voluntary basis with Citizen’s Advice and Gingerbread, and has previously assisted the University of Edinburgh’s Free Legal Advice and tutored with the School Mock Court Project.
