John Paterson

John Paterson is a Deputy Director in the Scottish Government’s Legal Directorate where he leads the team advising on the Health and Social care portfolio and is also responsible for advising Food Standards Scotland. He has a strong interest in tech and leads SGLD’s work on the use of AI tools in its practice. John was originally a litigation lawyer in private practice, and has worked across a wide range of roles and subject matters, both in Scotland and abroad, in the course of his career.
