Kate Burt

Founder and CEO
HiveRisk

Kate Burt is an experienced solicitor with over 20 years’ experience in the legal sector and is founder and CEO of HiveRisk, a boutique consultancy supporting firms with their approach to risk and compliance.

Kate and her team regularly advises law firms as well as award winning regtech and professional service businesses on market strategy, law firm insights and regulatory compliance. Specialisms include AML, counter fraud strategies, data protection, regulatory codes of conduct, PII renewals and complaints handling and works with both SRA CLC HMRC and FCA regulated firms.

Kate also co-founded Compliance for Law Firms, a weekly discussion forum attended by senior compliance professionals from some of the top law firms in the UK.

Kate and her team has advised and advises regulated professionals and firms in relation to regulatory issues relating to unusual scenarios including, cryptocurrency, anonymous parties and matters involving complex source of funds challenges.
