Marisa Cullen

Partner
Family Law Matters

Marisa joined Family Law Matters as a partner in 2021, and has practised exclusively in family law for over fifteen years.

Marisa deals with all aspects of family law and has considerable experience in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland as well as in the Court of Session. She advises on all aspects of financial provision on divorce, especially those involving complex business structures. Marisa is particularly known for her expertise in international child law and has developed a UK-wide reputation as an expert in international parental child abduction. As a result, Marisa has been instructed by the Scottish Government in a number of international parental child abduction cases and works with some of Scotland’s most esteemed Counsel delivering solutions in these complex international family law disputes. She also has notable experience in handling intra-UK family cases and receives instructions from London based lawyers. Marisa has provided expert opinions on international child matters to other Scottish lawyers and regularly liaises with lawyers throughout the UK and internationally in cross-border family cases.

Marisa is acutely aware of the often urgent, sensitive and emotional circumstances that separated families find themselves in and seeks to use her experience to find practical and child-focused solutions for her clients.
