Matthew Thomson
After qualifying in 2007, Matthew spent a number of years working for a large international law firm before joining the Law Society in 2011. In addition to his experience in private practice, Matthew has cross-border experience through a secondment to the Falkland Islands. Matthew also has experience of working in-house, having spent time within a Research and Innovation Department at a University.
Matthew advises members on a broad range of practice and ethical matters including conflict of interest, confidentiality and duties to the court. He is also particularly experienced in criminal court practice issues as well as legal aid matters and solicitors duties to the Scottish Legal Aid Board.
Matthew is qualified in Scottish Law, is a Notary Public and is registered with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office
