Myra Lamont MBE

I was a carer for my late husband who had early onset Semantic dementia. I cared for him throughout his illness, giving me user experience of health and social care services. I retired from the nursing profession to care for him.
During that time and to date I have been a campaigner, activist and ambassador for improvement in dementia services and conditions for unpaid carers.
Through dementia networks and my lived experience of dementia I have gained vast experience of the dementia landscape, strategy and policy. I was a founder member of the National Dementia Carers Network Alzheimer Scotland and Tide Scotland, Lay Advisor for the duration of the Life Changes Trust.
I also served on National Dementia Strategy Boards and Committees and currently an active member of Dementia, Age Scotland.
I am a member of PPI/Partner’s in Research, NHS Neuro progressive Network. Through that network I have been co-author of a book recently published.
“Challenging Assumptions Around Dementia, User-led research and Untold stories.
