Rebecca Norris

Barrister; Consultant; Embodied Coach;
Co-founder of Trauma-Informed Law

I am a barrister, somatic coach and consultant with over 15 years’ experience working with trauma and distress across diverse settings, including prisons, corporate workplaces and the legal system. Integrating 14 years as a criminal and commercial barrister with my training in somatic and trauma-informed practices, I support professionals and their clients navigating the personal
impact of legal processes.

Camilla and I co-founded Trauma-Informed Law to provide specialist support for trauma, burnout and overwhelm in the legal sector. We believe that it is essential to adopt a trauma-informed approach in order to safeguard the well-being of lawyers, their clients and the integrity of the legal system. Working alongside our team of psychotherapists and a neuroscientist, we deliver tailored training, consultancy and coaching to support professionals to navigate distress, build resilience and work sustainably. Our clients include leading universities, Inns of Court, Chambers, specialist Bar Associations and legal firms.

I also run a private coaching and consultancy practice specialising in supporting individuals to navigate trauma, distress and overwhelm. Using practical tools, neuroscience and embodied techniques, I work across industries including education, social care, sport and media.

My expertise includes designing and delivering trauma-informed training for leading law firms, global institutions and universities. I have led sensitive investigations internationally, prepared witnesses to give their best evidence and developed safeguarding policies for top-tier legal organisations. I have also created bespoke programs to support individuals through legal processes and educated professionals on managing trauma and distress. Additionally, I have extensive experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse, including developing tailored tools and policies to enhance legal professionals' responses.
