Richard Crawford
Richard was elected as a Council member in June 2025 representing solicitors in Greenock, Paisley and Kilmarnock. He has been a practicing solicitor for 25 years: the vast majority of that time being in the public sector. He has worked in Ayr and Kilmarnock.
As a Council member he welcomes the opportunity to listen and echo the views of all solicitors within the jurisdiction, be that in chambers or court matters. He also wants to hear the thoughts and views of local solicitors in areas of the law that he is unfamiliar with, their concerns now, and in the future and help shape the direction of the law in the area. In addition to listening to those concerns, he hopes to relay matters at meetings he attends on behalf of the area with a view to making measured views of solicitors in the jurisdiction known within the Law Society and make a constructive contribution and represent the jurisdiction in a positive light within the Society.
