Robbie Wilson

Partner
Anderson Strathern

Robbie is the Head of our Medical Negligence team. He has concentrated on this area of law since qualifying as a solicitor nearly 15 years ago. Robbie has also been accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in medical negligence law since 2016. Since 2021 Robbie has also sat on the Law Society panel that decides upon the specialist accreditations application for other solicitors.

His aim in his legal work is to make a difference to the lives of those who have been involved in medical accidents of all types, from birth injuries, misdiagnosis of illnesses and failure to treat. Having specialised in this complex area for a number of years, he has assisted many individuals and families to deal with the aftermath of a catastrophic medical outcome.

Robbie also has an interest in personal injury cases more broadly and undertakes a range of injury cases including accidents at work and road traffic accidents. He is passionate about passing on his expertise in the area of health and social care. He tutored on Edinburgh University’s Diploma in Legal Practice Personal Injury elective for six years and has also presented on the ‘Fundamentals of Medical Negligence in Recent Cases’ at a Law Society of Scotland seminar.  In contributing to the cases of the future, Robbie sits on the Scottish Civil Justice Council Personal Injury Committee sub-groups for devising a Compulsory Pre-Action Protocol in Medical Negligence and separately rewriting the Court Rules for Medical Negligence and Catastrophic Personal Injury claims (Chapters 42A and 36A).

Robbie is a Partner of the firm and recognised by both the independent legal researchers Legal 500 and Chambers. He is ranked as a ‘Leading Individual’ in the Legal 500’s guide and is also a ranked lawyer with Chambers & Partners in pursuer Medical Negligence in Scotland.

When he’s not at work, Robbie enjoys spending time travelling and exploring the great outdoors with his family.
