Róisín Magee
Róisín Magee is an Advisory Counsel in the Office of the Attorney General in Ireland. She is also vice chair of the Law Society of Ireland’s In-House and Public Sector Committee. She trained and qualified as a solicitor in a medium-sized private practice firm and gained extensive experience in a number of legal practice areas before moving to the public sector in 2015 where she worked as a legal advisor in the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine for ten years. She has advised on a wide range of issues, including environmental and climate law, European law, constitutional law, fisheries and aquaculture, forestry, landlord and tenant law, regulatory investigations, as well as managing and directing litigation on behalf of the State. She has experience sitting on a number of inter-departmental groups dealing with environmental issues in the State, including a group responsible for co-ordinating Ireland’s response to EU Commission infringements and pilots, and was formerly an Irish delegate to UNIDROIT’s MAC Preparatory Commission.
