Ross Yuill
Ross is the Managing Partner of The Glasgow Law Practice and has responsibility for day to day operations across the business. He is also a Solicitor Advocate where he specialises in serious crime, private and regulatory crime, fatal accident inquiries and professional misconduct. He is regularly instructed to represent a variety of clients facing court and tribunal hearings.
Ross joined the firm in 2001 as a trainee solicitor, was assumed as a Partner in 2007, qualified as a Solicitor Advocate in 2014 and took on the role of Managing Partner in 2023.
For more than twenty years he has been a key member of our busy criminal litigation department representing clients in courts across the country. Ross has conducted thousands of criminal cases over that period. Representing individuals charged with the whole spectrum of criminal offences from road traffic charges to Murder. More recently his practice has focussed on serious crime prosecuted at the High Court of Justiciary and professional misconduct proceedings. The defence of Road Traffic prosecutions including fatal cases is also of particular interest. Ross has an expertise in handling matters for professional clients facing disciplinary panels and also those facing sport disciplinary hearings. He has also conducted a significant number of Fatal Accident Inquries representing bereaved families of a deceased but also professional witnesses who are often parties to the FAI process.
In addition to criminal court matters Ross has a keen interest in child law and has appeared regularly before the Children’s Hearing and at Children’s Referrals. He is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Trauma Informed lawyer.
