Sheila Webster

Sheila has served as the elected representative for the Edinburgh constituency on the Law Society Council since 2017, and served as President of the Law Society of Scotland for 2023-24.
Sheila is a Consultant at Thorntons within the Dispute Resolution and Claims team, representing clients in a wide range of property and commercial disputes across various courts and tribunals in Scotland including involvement in several cases in the House of Lords and, later, the Supreme Court.
Sheila is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, an Ambassador for the Scottish Arbitration Centre and a member of the Scottish committee of the Property Litigation Association and regularly speaks at and chairs conferences and seminars on the subject of property disputes. She acts regularly as an arbitrator, and expert determiner, resolving disputes away from courts.
