Welcome to Legal CPD with a difference...

We promised engaging, informative content that makes you think and for our first month we hit the ground running. Hear from Ken Feinberg, a US attorney recently played by Michael Keaton in the feature film "Worth", Baroness Helena Kennedy one of the UK`s most distinguished lawyers, Gary Gallen founder and CEO of challenger law firm rradar and Ally Thomson and Emma Flood from Hey Legal.

Episode 1 | Kenneth R. Feinberg

Kenneth R. Feinberg is an American Attorney specialising in mediation and alternative dispute resolution. In 2001, Kenneth was appointed the Special Master of the US Government's September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, an undertaking that saw him become a polarising figure in the media as he decided how much money each victim's family was to receive. Detailing this work in his book 'What is life worth?', it was later adapted into a movie titled 'Worth', starring Michael Keaton as Feinberg. In this incredible first episode of Shaping Your Success, Johanna Boyd of Brodies discusses the emotional nature of Kenneth's work, his top-tips on achieving a work/life balance and asks his advice for Scottish solicitors looking to adopt a 'Trauma-informed' approach.

Episode 2 | Baroness Helena Kennedy QC

Baroness Helena Kennedy QC is one of Britain's most distinguished lawyers. She has spent much of her professional life giving voice to those who have least power within the system, championing civil liberties and human rights. Join us as we talk to Helena about her long fight for gender equality, the importance of values in a professional career, and her advice on being a strong leader.

Episode 3 | Ally Thomson & Emma Flood

In this episode we hear from  Ally Thomson, founder of Hey Legal alongside Emma Flood, the Head of Content for the company. With over 15 years experience developing online projects for law firms, Ally leads this discussion on the importance of being strategic in your content creation, the kind of content law firms should be creating and the steps they should take in order to get started. Providing practical insights into the world of content creation, this episode will hopefully be the catalyst that helps you join the digital revolution. For additional help with your content strategy, email: hey@heylegal.co.uk where they will be happy to discuss your needs.

Episode 4 |Gary Gallen

In this episode, we sit down with one of the most innovative lawyers in the UK; Gary Gallen, the founder of "disruptive legal challenger brand" rradar. The first law firm to ever qualify for the Times Tech Track Top 100 award, they've also been recognised as the only legal practice using advanced technology, qualifying them for the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Awards. Throughout this conversation with Ally Thomson of Hey Legal, Gary explains about his innovative approach to the practice and business of law and suggests where firms should start when asking themselves how they can be more innovative.
