What's the scam?

We have been informed of scam emails being sent to law firms claiming to be from Skipton's Conveyancing Panel and inviting the recipient to complete and return the attached Conveyancing Panel Management form for consideration.

Skipton have confirmed that these emails are not from them and note that all emails sent from Skipton will come from an address ending @skipton.co.uk, rather than a gmail or hotmail account.

What should you do?

Do not click on any links or attachments contained in the emails

If you suspect a fraud, or other internet crime, remember to report it on the Action Fraud website.

Where a fraud or scam has actually taken place, it should be reported directly to Police Scotland.

We recommend that you read our cybersecurity guide which includes tips for individuals receiving emails and what to think about before clicking on links and attachments
