New and returning members to represent Glasgow solicitors on Law Society Council
Two first-time and three returning members will represent Glasgow solicitors following a contested election for seats on the Law Society of Scotland's governing Council.
New Council members Stuart Munro and Ahsan Mustafa will join returning members Amna Ashraf, Austin Lafferty and Gordon Lennox as the five representatives for the Glasgow and Strathkelvin constituency.
The successful candidates will attend Council at its meeting on Friday, 30 May.
Susan Murray, President of the Law Society, said: “I want to thank everyone who put their names forward to stand for Council to represent solicitors in Glasgow. It’s really encouraging to see interest from members who want to be involved in the work of their professional body.
“I congratulate everyone who has been successful and look forward to working with our new and re-elected Council members over the next three years.
“I also offer my thanks to Jean-Paul Kasusula for all of his input during his past three years on Council.”

Our Council
The Council is our decision-making body. It's made up of elected members from geographical constituencies, co-opted and non-solicitor members.
