Glasgow's Lynch & Co reborn as MacDonald Lynch

19th May 2021 | careers , practice management

Glasgow legal practice Lynch & Co has been rebranded MacDonald Lynch under a new team keen to expand its operations.

Founded by Gerry Lynch in 1984, the business has been acquired by Elaine MacDonald, a former associate at Austin Lafferty Ltd in Newton Mearns, who becomes a partner along with Colin Carr, who was a consultant to that office. Three former employees of Austin Lafferty Ltd have also joined the relaunched practice. Mr Lynch will remain as a consultant.

Based in Mount Florida, MacDonald Lynch will provide legal services including residential and commercial conveyancing, wills, estates, powers of attorney and family law. While targeting the residential and commercial property market in Glasgow's south side, the firm has ambitions to serve clients across the central belt and beyond.

Ms MacDonald commented: "The pandemic has made many of us take stock of our careers and our lives. I felt that after more than 10 years working for others in the sector, it was time to set new career goals. The opportunity to work for myself and bring on board a brilliant, diverse team of colleagues I know and respect, was literally life changing and one I couldn't refuse.

"It is daunting stepping into Gerry’s shoes but we have a fantastic team that combines talented young professionals with distinguished legal specialists, and I am delighted that Gerry will support us in an advisory capacity. Our aim will be to build on his achievements and reputation, work hard to support his clients, many of whom are longstanding, and develop the business further. At MacDonald Lynch, everyone on the team is focussed on delivering outstanding customer service and, crucially, everyone will have a voice and a stake in our success."

Mr Lynch added: "I am so glad to see an enthusiastic, energetic younger team taking over. They’re a great team and I think our clients will be in good hands."
