Jones Whyte promotes two to partner

9th March 2022 | careers

Jones Whyte has announced the promotion of Nick Hay and Ross Anderson to partner.

Mr Hay began as a trainee with Jones Whyte in 2014, shortly after the firm’s inception, and is one of its longest serving employees. Since qualifying in 2016 he has developed a wealth of knowledge and expertise in dealing with all types of residential and commercial conveyancing, leading to his promotion to associate in March 2020.

Mr Anderson joined Jones Whyte in April 2021 following the administration of McClure Solicitors, where he had worked for seven years, progressing to associate. Possessing considerable knowledge and experience of both Scottish and English trust law, he recently became dual qualified as a solicitor in both jurisdictions.

Ross Jones, joint managing partner, commented: "We are extremely pleased to announce these promotions today. It is hugely rewarding and incredibly important to see our team continuing to develop and progress. As a relatively young firm, we place great emphasis on giving our teams real accountability along with continued training and development, equipping us to succeed and win for our clients.

"Nick Hay is a fantastic example of this ethos in practice, progressing rapidly up through our firm in the last eight years. In this time, the firm has grown from a small startup to an award winning, multi-service law firm with a 200-person strong team, and Nick has been an integral part of that development. This promotion is testament to Nick’s hard work and dedication and is thoroughly deserved.

"Ross Anderson has been an invaluable asset to Jones Whyte in managing a challenging transition for both former clients and staff of McClure, as well as being key to our strategy in developing our own private client service offering. Ross complements sound technical ability with great managerial and leadership skills and has been a fantastic addition to our team."
