JUSTICE Scotland appeals for office bearer volunteers
JUSTICE, the charity campaigning for law reform and human rights across the UK, is looking for a new chair and vice chair to lead its Scottish branch.
Current chair Shelagh McCall QC and vice chair Catherine Smith QC are stepping down from the voluntary positions. The chair acts as a spokesperson and key promoter for JUSTICE Scotland, supporting not just the charity’s legal work but its wider fundraising work as well.
Launched in 2012 and operating largely as a volunteer group of leading lawyers, with support from both Scotland and London-based staff, JUSTICE Scotland is regularly consulted by public bodies, MSPs, legal bodies and the Government and contributes to consultations and parliamentary business, as well as to the organisation’s UK-wide work. It publishes reports based on research and evidence found through working parties, and runs events for the legal sector.
JUSTICE said it was hugely grateful to Ms McCall and Ms Smith for their hard work and dedication.
