Lynda Towers

former Government lawyer, former Director of Public Law and current visiting professor at the University of Strathclyde

Lynda spent over thirty years as a government lawyer, 7 of those as Deputy Solicitor to the Scottish Government and 8 years as Solicitor to the Scottish Parliament. She spent the next 6 years as a Director of Public Law with Morton Fraser LLP. She has instructed and drafted Holyrood and Westminster legislations and been involved in litigation from the CJEU to courts and tribunals across Scotland, covering a range of devolved and reserved matters. She is currently a Visiting Professor at the University of Strathclyde, a Mental Health Tribunal Convener and convenes the Mental Health and Disabilities and the Constitution and Human Rights Committees of the LSS.
