This webinar will analyse the dichotomous role of AI in evidence, considering both how it is impacting the creation of evidence used in court as well as its analysis by the court.

Our expert speaker will dissect this contradiction and examine the multiple roles that AI may have when it comes to evidence in legal proceedings. From taking witness statements, creating expert reports and the rise of deepfakes, as well as AI's use in forensic and evidentiary analysis it can fulfill an increasing number of roles. In light of this, the webinar will examine the importance of human intervention in such proceedings and the potential need for new evidentiary rules in the Scottish legal system.

Learning outcomes:

  • Discover how AI is utilised in both the creation and analysis of evidence
  • Explore the role of AI in forensic analysis
  • Examine the importance of human intervention and understanding in AI’s impact on evidence
  • Reflect on how current rules regarding evidence in Scotland may need to develop to keep up with technological advances
