While major changes to employment law are on the horizon for 2026, AI is already making its mark by transforming our hiring procedures.

Our expert speaker will discuss the overlapping legislation and regulations that exist at the international and local level to govern the use of AI in employment. We will also analyse the risk that emerges when AI is incorporated into employment procedures such as application screening, initial interviews, and contract drafting. The all-important question of ‘who does liability lay with’ if AI tools were to result in discriminatory hiring practices will be considered alongside precautions employers can take to prevent this from happening. Time will be allocated at the end for questions and discussion with the speaker.

Learning outcomes:

  • Discover what legislation currently governs the use of AI in employment practices
  • Explore how AI is being incorporated into employment processes and the risks these present
  • Examine who is liable if AI were to violate employment equality guidelines and precautions that can be taken to prevent this from occurring
