Legal, social and technological changes are shaping the work of conveyancers across Scotland. We are still in the midst of a housing crisis, which has had a negative impact on the property market. Additionally, there have been several key legislative updates (most notably, concerning reforms to moveable transactions), and fast-moving technological updates which pose risks and opportunities for conveyancers.
This conference presents the perfect opportunity to meet fellow practitioners and share any questions or concerns that you may have with industry leaders. We will delve into those areas shaping conveyancing and take stock of the landscape for conveyancing lawyers in 2025.

Day One: Wednesday 4 June
An overview of key changes in the residential, commercial and rural property markets.
A series of case studies on the use of legal tech in conveyancing, hosted by Ally Thomson who will be joined by a panel of experts.

Modern property search solutions are empowering conveyancers to work more efficiently, but also presenting new risks (e.g. where clients may perform their own searches using legal technology services). This session will focus on the risks and the benefits.
The Scottish Government have announced proposals to enhance protections for tenants in social housing through the Housing (Scotland) Bill. We will look at the potential impact of these changes on landlords and tenants.
A workshop on best practice techniques for conveyancers in ensuring client satisfaction and responding to complaints.
