Law firms around the world are a primary target for cyber criminals and no organisation is immune. 65% of UK legal firms have been a victim of a cyber incident, but despite the need to protect ourselves, 35% of firms do not have a cyber mitigation plan in place – leaving them vulnerable to financial, legal, and reputational risks.

Led by Calum Baird, Digital Forensics and Incident Response Consultant at Systal Technology Solutions, this session guides you through the fundamentals of creating an effective Cyber Incident Response Plan (CIRP) to safeguard your firm. This session also features contributions from Nicholas Scullion, Managing Director of Scullion Law, who shares his first-hand experience of navigating a cyber breach that threatened to cripple his practice. Nicholas shares his personal experience of the attack, how they managed the crisis, and the key steps they had to take to emerge stronger.

This session provides practical tips to safeguard your firm, valuable insights based on lived experience, and lessons that can help enhance your firms cybersecurity resilience.

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify the legal, financial, and reputational risks of a cyber incident
  • Understand the importance of having a CIRP
  • Build the foundations of your firm’s CIRP
