This year’s conference put spotlight on some of the most topical issues in family law, in relation to both financial provision considerations, and the pressing issues surrounding Children and Families practice. Sessions included developments in Alternative Dispute Resolution, best practice for instructing expert witnesses, and a look forward to the use of Voluntary Care Orders.

Learning outcomes

  • Find out how to effectively utilise expert witnesses in divorce and dissolution proceedings
  • Discover the suitability of Alternative Dispute Resolution in optimizing client satisfaction
  • Identify the challenges and opportunities of the changing landscape of family law practice during a period of economic uncertainty
  • Better understand the important considerations of contempt of court in family cases

Testimonials

This was the best conference I have attended in years, both in terms of the speakers and the content and in terms of the organisation via Zoom which was all smooth and technically seemless. I would be happy to attend a version of this every year.
July 2022
Informative, relevant and well communicated.
July 2022
Another quality conference from the Law Society with relevant and insightful presentations on all matters relevant in family law post pandemic.
March 2022
An engaging and insightful roundup on all the law regarding financial provision on divorce.
March 2022
Very well organised event which ran smoothly over two mornings also allowing for participants to be able to keep up with office work and still attend an event which they otherwise might not have been able to do had this been a face-to-face event.
March 2021
The Family Law Conference 2021 (26th and 27th January) was first class. The online format was dealt with very smoothly and made it very easy to attend despite distractions at home! the speakers were of excellent quality and I felt their presentations were detailed and provided the answers that practitioners need on each of the various topics, rather than just talking in the round or at high level (which can sometimes be an issue at conferences) … Thank you - this is exactly what I needed!
January 2021
This was a very timely conference and packed with a good blend of both practical and substantive legal matters.
January 2021
Excellent conference. Clear and very informative.
