Join us for an hour-long webinar regarding the contemporary issues facing planning law in both Scotland and England.

Many Scottish solicitors have clients with business interests and property in England. A cross-border understanding of planning law is useful to work with those clients and understand their issues and concerns. In this webinar, Neil Collar, Partner at Brodies, will cover the direction of Scotland’s planning law and potential influence from English plans and politics, utilising real life consequences. Time will be provided for questions and discussion with the speaker and colleagues in these fields.

Learning outcomes:

  • Discover how cross-border considerations of planning law can improve the advice provided to clients for all disciplines, but especially property law
  • Understand the important, but often minute, differences between Scottish and English planning law
  • Learn what issues both Scotland and England are facing when it comes to planning, such as biodiversity enhancement, renewable energy and the housing emergency
  • Compare and contrast the solutions each country has reached for some of these issues and determine what Scotland can learn from England and vice versa
