As ESG becomes a larger focus and concern for organisations in Scotland it is important to stay up to date on the key legal changes that are happening within this area. Our one-hour webinar will deep dive into new legislation and policies that impact climate change law in Scotland.

Fiona Ross, Legal Director at Pinsent Mason, will analyse the new Climate Change (Emissions Reduction Targets) (Scotland) Act 2024 and the updates it has made to the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009. Special consideration will also be given to Scotland’s Carbon Budgets from the Climate Change Committee, and the Scottish Government’s upcoming Climate Change Plan, due to be published this year. With time to reflect on how Scotland is (or is not) meeting its climate targets and what organisations can do to contribute to these goals, you will have the chance for discussions and questions with the speaker and colleagues.

Learning outcomes:

  • Analyse updates from new legislation, such as the Climate Change (Emissions Reduction Targets) (Scotland) Act 2024
  • Deep dive into the Scottish Government’s upcoming Climate Change Plan and the Climate Change Committee’s Carbon Budgets
  • Reflect on Scotland’s climate change targets, how we are meeting them and areas for improvement
