1 hour verifiable CPD

The past year has seen a plethora of changes to the media law landscape in Scotland. This one-hour webinar will provide a deep dive into the main updates brought about by the Media Act 2024 and Ofcom.

Our expert speaker will deep dive into the Media Act 2024, considering such aspects as whether it has levelled the playing field between traditional broadcasters and on demand platforms as intended. Special consideration will be given to Ofcom's interaction and enforcement of the Online Safety Act, as of March 17th, and PSB guidance updates. Plenty of time will be allocated for discussion and questions with our speaker and colleagues.

Learning outcomes:

  • Deep dive into the changes that the Media Act 2024 has on Scottish media law
  • Learn about the implications of Ofcom’s enforcement of the Online Safety Act 2021
  • Reflect on the further changes that could be realised because of Ofcom’s continuing consultations
